Candle Care
About Slow Scent Company Candles
All our crystal-infused candles are hand poured and decorated in small batches, so no two candles are the same.
All crystals have been mindfully cleansed with water and/or palo santo wood smudging before being lovingly added in our candles. Over time the crystals and botanicals may sink into the wax pool, however it does not affect the crystal energy release.
Crystals for Keepsake
When your candle is finished, allow the wax to fully cool and remove the crystals. Wipe them with a soft towel, then rinse off of any residual wax.
Candle Care
Treat your candles with the love and care they deserve to get the most from your candle-burning experience.
1ST BURN
When lighting your candle for the first burn, allow it to burn for at least one hour, or until the top layer of wax has melted throughout the sides evenly. This helps to create an even melt pool, prevents your candle from tunneling and encourage maximum scent throw.
TRIM WOODEN WICK
Before relighting, always trim the charred wick to 5-6mm for optimal flame strength. If you do not have a wick trimmer, you can use a pair of scissors or nail cutter too. Remove any debris to achieve a cleaner and longer burn.
PUTTING CANDLES OUT
To avoid smoke and soot, use a wick dipper or candle snuffer to extinguish your candle.
STORAGE
Soy candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust. Keep your candle in the candle box or in aglass cloche when not in use, this will help to extend the candles shelf life to 1 year.
GENERAL CAUTION
Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue burning when only 1cm of wax remains. You’re encouraged to put your candle on a heat-safe surface. Never leave a lit candle unattended.
